Joe ‘The Boss’ Hipp on Suicide Prevention
Written by daybreak on June 13, 2022
Daybreak Star Radio Network sits down in the studio to interview Joe Hipp and his family to discuss suicide prevention within his non-profit organization, All Nations Foundation, and his experience as a Native American heavyweight boxer, winner of a World Title Belt in 1999, and how that led him to develop his passion for helping youth.
If you are interested in volunteering, please follow the links below.
After the suicide of his granddaughter, Alexandria Cole, in 2012, Joe Hipp and his family created the All Nations Foundation to help Native youth find hope, community, and to create goals for themselves. If you would like to support the Hipp family in preventing suicides, would like them to speak to your youth group, or take some boxing lessons, then contact them right away.
From All Nations Foundation:
All Nations Foundation is passionate about suicide awareness for the Puyallup, WA region. It is important for you, as a major influence in the lives of young people throughout Puyallup, to join us in the fight for suicide awareness and suicide prevention. Puyallup parents, students, educators and influencers can do this by education for suicide awareness and knowing the warnings signs associated with it.
We are passionate about suicide awareness for Puyallup youth because suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death in our nation today. We believe suicide awareness is the key to suicide prevention. If you suspect a young person is in need of suicide help, get them to a professional immediately. Suicide is preventable.
As part of our suicide awareness we educate throughout Puyallup, some of the warning signs for suicide include:
- Suicide threats
- Depression
- Anger and increased irritability
- Decrease in appetite
- Decrease in academic performance
- Lack of interest
