Daybreak Star Radio was thrilled to interview BLACKBRAID!  Black Metal’s current shining star! BlackBraid is a Native American Black Metal solo project hailing from the Adirondack Wilderness.

When his single, Barefoot Ghostdance on Blood Soaked Soil, released we were shocked – stunned – amazed – and ready to ROCK!!!

The poetry of the hard hitting lyrics, artistry of the cords, and professionalism of the imagery and videos stood out from all the other black metal groups.  Plus, BLACKBRAID is Native!  His story represents so many of us.  He was adopted as an infant into a white family and white community and is learning about what is true in his soul.  Listen to his music and you will hear the ancestors screaming for all of us to stand up and move forward for our grandchildren’s grandchildren. So many Natives were taken from their families and adopted or put into foster care with no link to their culture.  So many were placed into boarding schools.  So many were never given a chance.  Yet, here we are.  Resisting.  Taking our culture, traditions, language, and our Land Back!
