’Stand’ Premieres June 3rd, 2025

Blending pop and punk genres, Cody Coyote prepares to release a track that’s meant for everybody. Releasing everywhere on June 6th BUT premiering right here on June 3rd @4pm PST on the Daybreak Star Radio! Cody Coyote will also be live on air describing the origin of the song because it comes from an incredibly real and raw place.

While Jermaine got to sit down with Cody Coyote earlier last week, we got an inside look at where the track ‘Stand’ comes from. Cody stating that it came from leaving an unhealthy relationship and this song was telling his side of the story. Although the true reason was that it ultimately came down to him realizing his self-worth and finally felt the courage to speak up about his struggles.

Cody Coyote continues to grow the conversation by hitting on the important note that men oftentimes don’t talk about their struggles. Stating that any sense of vulnerability comes with shame, fear of being looked down upon. The single ‘Stand’ was the opportunity to speak on those topics both personal and broad for anyone who needs those words and vibes of comfort.

ROOTS BLOSSOMED

Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Cody comes from an Ojibwe father and an Irish mother, calling the Matachewan First Nation and Bear Clan his home. Finding the passion for music in catholic school, a teacher introduced him to the school studio space and it blossomed from there. Cody states that finding the passion for music when he did, gave him an outlet from bullying and that correlation helps him inspire the youth today.

Cody Coyote states that curating unique music projects allows him to take his power back, step into his truth and voice while taking back the narrative. Being able to work with talented producers and solely focus on his content, rhymes, etc. allowed him to dive into his voice even more. Adapting his message to the intricacies of the beat, the bpm, etc.

Through all the success, one of Cody’s core values is staying humble, using the recognition that he gets to show others that it’s possible. This leads Cody Coyote to a bulk of the work that he does which is youth activism. Oftentimes getting to be a keynote speaker and more, Cody shares some hope and inspiration for the youth.

INTO HEALING

Cody emphasizes the importance of not just trauma dumping on the people you’re trying to help. More importantly making sure that you walk into any type of conversation with solution-based thinking at the forefront. Making sure that you know what resources are immediately available for the ones you’re trying to help because that’s the only way meaningful healing can begin.

Cody Coyote ends off with advice to the youth, hoping to spark their healing journey early. Stating that you are good enough, you are more than capable. That your art will always be your art, we can never please everybody so always remember that it’s yours, and it has to start for you. Be a constant learner, observer and always walk into new environments with caution, protecting your art at all costs.
